1801 (Jan. 9)

Vaugeois, Father Juan Fran(cis)co

Dispensation asked by Francisco Alexandro to marry Isabel Nicolas.

--------
1800 Dec. 28

Vaugeois, Father Juan Fran(cis)co
Mobile, (Alabama)

to Bishop (Luis Penalver y Cardenas)
(New Orleans), Louisiana

Vaugeois sends the relationship of two of his parishioners who wish to marry. All here come from four or five families. He has heard that they have very little and live by their labors. If (Penalver) grants the dispensation, he asks that he be given permission to marry them in Lent as he may not be there when the dispensation arrives and there would not be enough time between his return and Lent; if he does arrive in time he asks a dispensation from the two banns as asked in his letter of December 10.
