"Father Cointet proposed that Mr. John Hays should not concur in certain branches lest he should have all the premiums because he had more talent than the rest and also a better memory, but after the subject had been agitated for some time, influenced by the knowledge of the places he had already obtained, the matter was referred to Father Granger's decision."
