Henrri, Bartolome
New Orleans, (Louisiana)

to Bishop (Luis Penalver y Cardenas
New Orleans, Louisiana)

Bartolome Henrry, a native of San Malo in Brittany appeared and stated that he wished to marry Juana Bourque. He asks (Penalver) to receive testimony on the following points: that he is the son of Bartolome Henrri and Ana Bourque, daughter of Ursula Herber and Alexandro Bourque, his grandfather, son of Juan Bourque and Margarita Landry, the common stock; that Juana Bourque is the daughter of Juana Diaigle and Juan Bourque, son of Maria Bario and a second Juan Bourque, son of Maria Pitre and a third Juan Bourque son of a fourth Juan Bourque and Margar(i)ta Landry, the common stock. His fiancee's father is 71 years old. Bartolome's father as well as hers came down from New Madrid where they had been robbed by the Indians. Among the Acadians, from whom they originated, there always has been a strong inclination to marry their own so their parents, after leaving Acadia and roaming through Europe, found many of those who left (Acadia). He asks (Penalver) to send the necessary order to the pastor of Balenzuela so that he may marry them. Father (Isidro) Quintero states at the beginning of the letter that Bartolome appeared.
