Heuser, Father H(erman) J.: Overbrook, P(ennsylvani)a
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Hudson's kind note with the enclosed protest against the things said by them in reference to the "Boy Scout" movement should have been answered at once. He has received a Mr. Wade's remonstrance which subsequently appeared in the St. Louis "Church Progress". He has prepared an answer for the November Ecclesiastical Review which will cover the objections of Hudson's correspondent from New Orleans. He objects to the spirit of religious indifference which is inculcated under the plea of toleration in the movement. The English Boy Brigades offer a fine substitute for General Baden-Powell's Boy Scouts method.

Tiernan, F(rances) C(hristine Fisher): Salisbury, N(orth) C(arolina)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Tiernan has been ill. She does not know of any book lately issued in which the externals appealed to her; she is sure Hudson's taste will be good in this.

Atteridge, A. Hilliard: Isleworth, (England)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Atteridge sends a short article. This week he reviewed (Georges) Clemenceau's "South America" for the Pall Mall Gazette. His testimony is so strong Atteridge thought it useful to do this article. Next week Hudson shall have an article on a wonderful cure and a conversion at Lourdes. It took place during a visit he and his sister made this year. Hudson must pray for the two friends of his who will, he hopes, join the Church. They are a young engineer and the lady to whom he is engaged. Could not the Ave Maria help him in the same manner as it does Christian Reid by publishing the material in book form? "Gerard A. Reynolds" has another novel in progress.

Benson, Father Robert Hugh: Buntingford, (England)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Benson hopes to write a complete book embodying all his Ave Maria papers and fears that selling these papers separately in pamphlet from would injure the sale of the larger book.
