Handley, Marie Louise: Brooklyn, N(ew) Y(ork)
to Father (Daniel E. Hudson, (C.S.C.):

Handley is glad Hudson liked the story. She thanks him for the Canadian paper with "On the Mountain". Handley is sorry the picture has not turned up, and will order another one. She is sending as an Eastern offering a crucifix touched to the body of Mother Bentivoglio when her grave was opened ten years after her death and the Sister saw her body was incorrupt. The Mother Abbess gave it to Handley when she was in Evansville.

Handley, Marie Louise: Brooklyn, N(ew) Y(ork)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Handley is glad to know that the crucifix is in Hudson's hands. She would be glad to see the sketch of Mother Bentivoglio's life in book form but would like to ask if the Sisters in Evansville have any objections. At the time she wrote the sketch they feared that the Bishop might not approve as it might be disadvantageous to the cause in Rome. She told them the story was being written by a secular and outsider. It is the opinion of the Sisters who saw Bentivoglio's body that it is miraculously preserved. Handley never saw Mother Bentivoglio dead or alive.
