Tiernan, F(rances) C(hristine Fisher): Salisbury, N(orth) C(arolina)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Interruptions and some illness have delayed her sending the promised story. The story is finished and if he doesn't like it he can send it back.

Klein, Father Felix: St. Gervais, Haute-Savoie, (France)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): Notre Dame, Indiana

He read with gratitude Hudson's lines on "Hope in Suffering." Hudson has been so generous on all occasions that he is afraid to abuse this generosity by sending a new book in two or three months, "God Loves Us." Their hospital is now under the authority of the United States military.

Guiney, Louise I(mogen): Grangeleigh, (England)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Guiney does not know from what quarter Hudson got that verse. It was published about 1900 in a hardly-circulated book. It is always at the back of her head that she must send Hudson another budget of miscellaneous. Guiney fell ill last February and has only reached the letter-writing stage.

(Stone), C.P., Father Fidelis: Corpus Christi, Texas
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Stone is often homesick for Notre Dame and St. Mary's. Our Lord has given him something to do—to devote himself to mission work for the poor Negroes of this forlorn region. He gave up the notion of going to Mexico. Father Mark, C.P. began the mission about the time Stone came last February. The buildings are practically finished and he encloses a photograph (no enclosure). Three Ursulines are in charge of the school. Most of the blacks are almost heathen, but they are docile and interested. P.S. There is as yet no postal delivery at their place.
