(1921) Nov. 2
(Holmes), Marjorie: Bentham, (England)
to (Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.: (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Holmes wonders what it was like before she knew Hudson. She was so lonely because her sister had just gone up to Leeds University. She wishes Hudson could find a photo of himself. She heard of the Ave Maria ages ago in school. She has left school and is teaching in a private girls' school. She would have loved to go up to Leeds with Clarisse Nov. 15; their school has been closed because of diphtheria. She visited Clarise this weekend. They went to the Cathedral for Mass. She wonders if this poem will do for Hudson.
