1924 Mar. 4
Berlioz, Bishop A(lexander): Sendai, Japan
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Berlioz has received the stipends for 250 Masses which form the principal part of his priests' daily bread. New York and Philadelphia also favor them in this respect. Perhaps Hudson will have a visit from Dr. Takahashi, a professor at Sendai sent to America and Europe by the government. He is now in California.

1924 Mar. 10
(Holmes), Marjorie: Bentham, (England)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Their friendship doesn't need any bolstering but if Hudson hasn't had this book he is to keep it. Will these verses do for the Ave Maria?

1923 May. 10
Harding, Warren G.: Washington, (District of Columbia)
 to Joseph Dutton: Molokai, Hawaii

Harding's attention has been called at various times to the splendid Christian work Dutton has been rendering to the leper colony at Molokai. Harding had known something of the work of Father (Joseph) Damien (de Veuster, SS.CC.) through the writings of Robert Louis Stevenson. Dutton's work is not unknown nor unappreciated.
