Atteridge, A. Hilliard: London, (England)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Atteridge congratulates Hudson and (George N.) Shuster for Shuster's article in the Feb.28 issue of the Ave Maria. People in England and America know too little of the splendid things done by German Catholics. Shuster does not mention the splendid monthly review of the Jesuits, "Stimmen der Zeit," founded 60 years ago as the "Stimmen aus Maria Laach." German Catholics owe much to the publishing firm of Herder, which began on a small scale in Napoleon's days and gave the Catholics of Germany and the world a whole library of wonderful books. Atteridge is sending a new little book of his which could not have been written if he did not know German. He hopes to begin again soon to send things to the Ave Maria.
