Research files related to Nuesse's interest in rural Wisconsin parishes (though much of the data here is not religious), including offprints raw data from his studies "The Relation of Financial Assessment to Status in a Rural Prish," published in the American Catholic Sociological Review, March 1948, "Membership Trends in a Rural Parish," published in Rural Sociology, XXIII (June 1957), and "Recent Catholic Fertility in Rural Wisconsin," published in Rural Sociology, XXVIII (December 1963); with data on voting patterns in rural Wisconsin and related printed material on Wisconsin counties.

Background

C. Joseph Nuesse taught at the Catholic University of America and also served there as a Dean and as Provost; author of The Social Thought of American Catholics, 1634-1829 (1944) and The Sociology of the Parish (1951).
