Background
Founded in 1974 as an organization of married Roman Catholic priests, CORPUS now defines itself as the national association for an inclusive priesthood and includes lay people and women among its members. CORPUS "promotes an expanded and renewed priesthood of married and single men and women in the Catholic Church" (CORPUS Brochure).
