Born 20 May 1914 in Evanston, Illinois, William Thomas Hamilton lived in South Bend, Indiana, from 1955 until his death 16 July 1989. He served as executive vice-president and general manager of the WNDU stations; vice-president of the board of directors of Dismas House of Michiana, a half-way house for ex-prisoners; president of Junior Achievement and the Alcohol Council of St. Joseph County; board member of the Indiana Heart Association and the Right ot Life Educational Trust; and volunteer in a Notre Dame program to help students who abuse alcohol. Ordained as a permanent deacon in 1975, he served at St. Patrick's Parish in South Bend and as a member of the United Religious Community prison program.
