The photographic collection from Notre Dame Media Group consists of color and black and white prints, negatives, slides, and color born-digital photos. The images depict University events, student life, campus buildings, academics, sporting events, alumni events, faculty, staff, and other institutional departments.
There are a number of photographs that have no identification and the photographers are unknown.
Also five video tapes (Domers Through the Decades, Hesburgh: Priest of God, University of Notre Dame Beauty Reel, Nowhere Else but Notre Dame, and Fresh Accomplishments (NACUFS 2002 Conference Promo), and other audio-visual material.
Notre Dame Media Group was formed around 2004 after a reorganization of offices, including the Publications Office (PUB) and the University Photographers Office (PHR). In 2009, Media Group changed its name to AgencyND. This department is part of the Office of Public Affairs and Communication.
