Cavanaugh, CSC, to Phillips and his son dated 20 May 1915; two business letters from Holy Cross College (Worcester, MA), 1925; a scrapbook of clippings and a few photos compiled while he was in high school and at Notre Dame; a notebook with college and professional architecture notes; a notebook listing Maginnis and Walsh projects he worked on, probably from the 1920s; certificates and diplomas he received (including his 1912 Notre Dame degree); a few photographs relating to Notre Dame baseball and more photos showing churches and related buildings he designed; newspaper clippings concerning him, his family and his career; and printed exhibits presenting individual churches and buildings he designed.
Wendell T. Phillips was a Notre Dame baseball player (class of 1912) who became an ecclesiastical architect in the New England and Middle Atlantic States.
