Scope and Content

Correspondence, reports, clippings, and Christmas cards relating to Notre Dame's and Catholics' participation in the war. The first six folders contain records of Father Thomas McAvoy's work in collecting documentation on these two topics and answering requests for information about Notre Dame's contribution to the war; the last three folders contain letters, cards, and other items that Library Director Paul Byrne and Brother Reginald, CSC, received from Notre Dame serivcemen and friends in the armed services.
