Eleven volumes recording, in chronological order, the date, student's or account's name (Scholastic, Dome, a Scholarship, Treasury, etc.), amount received as payment on the account, the initials of the person receiving the money, and monthly (as well as sometimes year to date) totals of money received. During certain periods the form of payment (cash, draft, express, etc.) is also noted.
Related volumes: Most, but at least in the early years not all, of the entries in this series of books were copied into the "Cashbooks" of corresponding date, either as individual entries or in summary form. The "Students' Cashbooks" are more detailed, however, and (at least for those early years) seemingly more complete. These payments are also entered on the student's financial account found in "Student Ledgers". For the period 1899 through 1909, the page number of the student's "Student Ledger" account is noted in the "Students' Cashbook" entry. [The fact that the notation changes from a page number to a checkmark and then to students' initials after the summer of 1909 may indicate that 1908/09 was the last year that the "Student Ledgers" series of accounts were kept in bound form.] A record of bills for tuition and board is found in "Registers of Student Bills Sent and Paid".
Page 142 has a record of money refunded, February-April 1871.
