Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 286 - Notre Dame
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 286 - Notre Dame Records (VFW), University of Notre Dame Archives (UNDA), Notre Dame, IN 46556
Records of the Notre Dame post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
Minutes of the Post's first three meetings and of one meeting of the Executive Coomittee of Veterans Organizations, South Bend.
Includes the Post's Charter Application.
Cards detailing personal information and the service record of applicants. These cards were originally arranged in three groups: one for those who left the post before it disbanded, one for those who were still members at that time, and one for those who had never paid dues (and presumably were never active in the post). The cards are now arranged alphabetically. The Records of Dues Payments by Members, however, remain arranged in this original fashion. See below. (There are no payment records for those members who never paid dues.)
Includes quarterly balance sheets ("Financial Statements"), quarterly quartermaster's statements, checks and vouchers, and and a few other papers.
