Primarily papers of Bishop Joseph Rosati, including correspondence, much of it in the form of transcriptions and translations of letters, and his biography. Correspondents include bishops Benedict Joseph Flaget, Simon Bruté, Anthony Blanc, Leo de Neckère, Joseph Patrick Lynch, John Odin, John Timon, and John Joseph Hughes, and the first Vincentian superior in the United States, Felix de Andreis.

Also correspondence of Bishop William Louis Valentine Dubourg and of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton; and correspondence between Souvay and Archbishop Robert Seton, Sister Mary Agnes McCann, Joseph Cade, and Peter Guilday of the American Catholic Historical Association, concerning Mother Seton.
