to Josef (de Orue y Gioruca, accountant of the army ?
(New Orleans, Louisiana)
Last night the bishop (Cirilo Sieni of Barcelona), Father
Francisco (de Caldes) and Father Ignacio (de Olot) made him get
from bed and go on board the Borja. He begs (Josef) to inform the
Mother superior at the convent of the Ursuline (Mother Antonia
Sta. Monica Ramos), Mr. Josef Hortega (Ortega) and Mr. Andres
(Lopez Armesto) of his plight. Later he will send some news of
the novelties he finds at Havana and the reasons why he is being
sent there. He sends ten pesos so that his negress who is staying
at the house of Lorenzo the German may have something to eat.
