Penalver y Cardenas, Luis, Bishop of
New Orleans, Louisiana

Penalver grants the dispensation under the following conditions: They are to live separately; in the space of two months they are to go eight times for confession to the church of St. Bernard at New Galvez whose pastor will have them recite the Rosary and other prayers, that one of the confessions be a general one, that they are to make these trips separately, not together. The pastor of the Cathedral is to be notified so that, upon receiving the report from the pastor of St. Bernard's about the fulfillment of the penances, and having paternal consent and publication of banns, he may perform the marriage. This is certified by Quintero who adds in notes that he notified Lafrancht of the above decree and sent it as ordered.
