Quintero, Father Isidro
Josefa Aleman, a native of Aguimes in the Canary Islands and a resident of La Fourche, married Jose Garcia Moreno, a native of Mansanares of La Mancha, in La Fourche before Father Angel de Revillagodos, (O.M.Cap.) on February 22, 1784. She has been informed that her husband is living in Coramaluapan in the Diocese of Puebla de Los Angeles where he intends to marry. She asks (Penalver) to send a letter to the bishop, his vicar-general, or the pastor, who is Father Jose Lara, so that the second marriage is not allowed and that he may be sent back to fulfill his duties. Quintero adds in a note in the margin that the petitioner presented herself but did not know how to sign.
Penalver y Cardenas, Luis, Bishop of
Letters are to be sent as asked for. Quintero certifies this decree and adds in notes that he made the decree known to J(ose)pha Aleman and sent the letters as ordered.
Notario, (O.P.), Father Fran(cis)co

Signed Father Angel de Revillagodos." Notario certifies that the above copy was taken from the register of baptisms and marriages.
