Of the three assistantships and office of sacristan for the Cathedral, two have been used, Father Luis Quintanilla, O.M.Cap. and Father Flavien de Besancon, the latter often ill. A French priest from the Diocese of Lisieux in Normandy has presented himself, Father L(o)uis Buhot, age 31, whose conduct and services had been approved in North America which he left with the permission of the bishop and applied himself to preaching. He knows the English language in addition to his own with the beginnings of Spanish. (Penalver) thinks him fitted for the vacant assistantship in which he will place him with Gayoso's consent.
