Juan Bautista Fontenot swore that Luis' paternal grandfather was Joseph Fontenaut and his maternal grandmother was Maria Juana Brignac; Hortensia's grandparents were Pedro Fontenaut and Luison Doucet, natives of Alibamanes in Mobile; they are related in the third degree which in Spanish is the same as first cousins. Fontenot is 76 and signs. Enrique Fontenot of the same family swore (to the same facts). He is 58. Maria Juana Brignac swore (to the same facts). She is 73. Luis appeared and testified that he wished to marry Hortensia and that he is 21.
