Hebert, a native of Iberville, wishes to marry Elena Dupuis of the same parish. They are related in the second degree. Hebert is the son of Maria Boudreau and Amand Hebert, son of Pablo Hebert and Maria Josefa Melanzon. Elena is the daughter of Jose Dupuis and Ana Hebert, daughter of Pablo Hebert and Maria Josefa Melanzon. Elena's father is dead, her mother is poor with only a house and several slaves and she has 8 children.

Antonio Guedry appeared as a witness and swore (in addition to information already given) that of the 8 children of Elena's mother, 4 are married and 4 single, one about 22 who runs the farm. The groom- to-be is the son of one of the most well-to-do along this coast, although not rich. Guedry is 48 and signs as Antoine Guedry.

Zacarias is to make a general confession, say the rosary for a month and personally perform some work in the Cathedral church which the majordomo will certify. Elena is to be notified by a letter to the pastor of Iberville to make a general confession and perform some work such as washing the church linens. Quintero adds in notes that he notified Zacharias, the pastor of the Cathedral, Antonio Morales, the majordomo, and sent a letter to Father Pedro de S(an) Pablo in charge of the parish of Iberville.
