to Bishop (Luis Penalver y Cardenas) Denesse, a native of St. Luis Parish residing down the river, wishes to marry Fran(cis)ca Martin also of this parish. They are related in the second degree. Denesse belongs to the parish 14 leagues down the river; he is the son of Maria Josefa Sauvagin and Juan Denesse son of Guillelmo Denesse and Margarita Guillome. His fiancee is the daughter of Fran(cis)co Martin and Margarita Denesse, daughter of Guillelmo Denesse and Margarita Guillome. Her father is old and infirm with 11 children with only a poor house, an old slave and one other boy. Denesse asks the bishop for a dispensation and that he instruct the pastor of "The Turn" to marry them. D. (Spanish)

Quintero, Father Isidro Angel Ross on February 7, 1791, ordered that 3 Masses be said for him, that 2 reales be given for each obligatory bequest, that 20 other Masses be said and 10 pesos be given. He left to the Charity Hospital for the poor, the third part of the net profit from his estate and named as his heir his mother Fran(cis)ca Moras, resident of Obanas in the diocese of Pamplona in Navarre. This conforms to the original in the register of wills made by Pedesclaux April 1, 1796, and sent to Quintero. A.D.S. (Spanish)

Quintero, Father Isidro Jose Capetillo swore that Ross died in 1795 and his possessions consisted of a large chest of small wares, his clothes and other small things Almonaster took over and which were valued at 300 pesos. Capetillo acted as secretary but left a few days later for duty in the customhouse. He is 49 years old and signs as Jose Garcia Capetillo. A.D.S. (Spanish)

Quintero, Father Isidro Manuel Cams swore that Ros who died in 1795 left a trunk of small wares, a few clothes and nothing more. Manuel, the Gallician, bought the wares; there was no one in the province to whom Almonaster could sell them for 100 pesos. (?) Cams is 38 and signs. A.D.S. (Spanish) In the book of charges of the Hospital, Almonaster received amounts dated March, 1795, and April, August and December, 1796, totaling 120 pesos for the sale of goods belonging to Ros. 10 pesos were paid to N. Lastia for treatment and coffin. With an alms of 23 pesos the hospital gave an offering for 23 Masses and 8 reales for the legal bequests. D.
