In order to transfer Father Fran(cis)co Lennand, pastor of Baton Rouge, to St. John Baptist (Second German Coast, Louisiana) parish Hassett sent a letter on April 23 to the Vice-Royal Patron to install there Brady, pastor of Ovachita, Aboyelles, and Rapides and having his consent in a letter of the 24th, Hassett gives Brady a license. Fran(cis)co Bermudez acts as secretary.

Because of the death of Father Mariano Brunet(e), who served St. John Baptist parish, Lennan, now at Baton Rouge, is to be transferred there as he speaks French well and the congregation is French. Brady is to go to Baton Rouge where there are many English and Irish and Father Patricio Lonnergan is to take Brady's parish. If Salcedo finds no objections, the necessary letters are to be sent to these priests.
