George's father and Maria's father are sons of Federico Toups and Maria Leroux so they are related in the second degree. George is an orphan, Maria's father is dead; they are very poor. Upon fulfillment of the conditions word is to be sent to the pastor of St. Charles of the German Coast to publish the banns. Hassett signs.
