Congratulations to Fred Syburg

This production has special significance for both the cast and the department. At the end of this academic year, Professor Frederic Syburg will retire after thirty-seven years of teaching and service. The Good Woman of Setzuan will be Professor Syburg's final directing assignment as an active member of the Department of Communication and Theatre.

It has been my great privilege to work with Fred over the past seven years. He is an excellent teacher, a superb director, and a consummate gentleman. Most importantly, students and their needs have always come first with Fred. I will especially miss his quiet strength and astute counsel.

Mark C. Pilkinton, Chair
