CORRESPONDENCE OF BROTHERS (1847)
"Retreat began August 23 -- ' some salutary fruits '. Notwithstanding the general indisposition of the Brothers Father Superior (Sorin) spoke against correspondence of the Brothers with F. Rector (Moreau) in a manner that troubled and scandalized him. He prohibited correspondence with Father Rector, which is absolutely unconstitutional. He has repeated the same discourse in stronger terms. The Rector should be informed at once, which was accordingly done." Saulnier on an unofficial visit from France
