DOMINIC, SILAS, BROTHER (Michael Zehender)

"Brother Dominic Silas died at the Community House, Notre Dame, as the result of a paralytic stroke, June 25. For nearly forty years he had been the faithful steward of Holy Cross College, New Orleans, Louisiana. Formerly he had been prefect in St. Edward's Hall, Notre Dame. Two of his sisters are in the order of St. Francis, and a brother, Brother Ulrich, c.s.c. is at Columbia University, Portland, Oregon. Brother Dominic was born at Dodgeville, Wisconsin, 1863; received the Holy Habit, September 9, 1888, Professed December 9, 1892." "Associate of St. Joseph", 3:1, 1933
