"Very Reverend Provincial Father Sorin just then came in accompanied by Father Paul Gillen with a proposal to get lands from the Government in Minnesota. The Council was requested to consider the affair, as the land is to be given if approved. The Council decided that the time hadn't yet come for the undertaking as we have no members to spare."
