Landry, resident of the parish of St. Gabriel of Iberville, appears and states that he wishes to marry Constancia Landry, a native and resident of LaFourche to whom he is related. He asks (Penalver) to receive his testimony and that which the witnesses will present on the following points: he is a native of Acadia, son of Margarita Boudrot and Carlos Landry son of M(ari)a Girois and Pedro Landry, son of Abrahan Landry and Margarita Gautreau, that Constancia Landry is the daughter of Margarita le Blanc and Pedro Landry, son of Maria Sangre and Claudio Landry, son of Abraban Landry and Margarita Gautreau; that Landry has visited her home for several years with a view to marrying her; that in her parish as in his, nearly all are Acadians and related and it is impossible for him to search for a wife in another place because his father has been ill in bed for more than eight years and his mother is old and very poor. He asks for a dispensation. Father (Isidro) Quintero, as secretary, states in a note in the margin that Landry appeared but did not know how to sign.

Penalver grants the dispensation under the following conditions: that they do not live under the same roof, that they make a general confession, that for two months before the marriage they recite the rosary every Sunday and holy day, and during this time make at least two confessions. Notice is to be sent to the pastor of the Church of the Ascension in LaFourche so that upon fulfillment of all conditions he may give them the nuptial blessing. Quintero certifies this and adds in notes that he notified Landry and sent the notice to the pastor of LaFourche.
