In a letter of March 28, Notario asked to retire to Havana from which he came and since he is not obliged to remain and it is a case of necessity, (Penalver) does not wish to refuse. White is left without an assignment with the taking over of the territory of his parish by the United States of America and he is capable of serving LaFourche. Gayoso is asked to give his consent for the privileges of the benefice.

The pastorate of the Assumption of LaFourche being vacant through the resignation of Notario, a letter was sent to Gayoso, Brigadier of the Royal Armies, Governor of this province and Vice Royal Patron, so that with his consent, White, formerly pastor of Colescreek could be placed there, since this territory had been ceded to the United States of America. Consent having been obtained in a letter of the 14th, notwithstanding that this priest is destined for parishes in which the English language is more common, there being no other vacant, Penalver names White as pastor at LaFourche granting him the requisite faculties (given in detail). This is certified by Quintero.
