Jose Tibaudau, native and resident of St. Martin of Atakapas appeared and stated that he wished to marry Pelagia Brusard of the same place and faith. He asks (Penalver) to receive his testimony and that of the witnesses on the following: Tibaudau is the son of Rosalia Gilbaud and Pablo Tibaudau, son of Claudio Tibaudau, son of another Tibaudau, whose name is unknown because he died in Acadia and was very old. Pelagia Brusard is a native and resident of the same parish, daughter of Pelagia Brusard and Ana Tibaudau, daughter of Juan Tibaudau, son of the Tibaudau whose name is unknown. The family of Tibaudau and Brusard is so extensive in the parish that almost all are related. He asks (Penalver) to grant a dispensation and to order their pastor to marry them. At the beginning of the letter, Father (Isidro) Quintero notes that Tibaudau appeared.

Penalver grants the dispensation on condition that they make a general confession and another confession on the day of their marriage, and fast on four consecutive Fridays. On fulfillment of these conditions, word will be sent to the pastor of Atacapaz that he may marry them. Quintero certifies this and adds that he notified Tibaudau and sent word to the pastor.
