Longuepec begs (Penalver) to order that his testimony be received and that of his witnesses on the following points: that he is a native of St. Malo of France, a resident of Iberville, son of Ambrosio Longuepec and Margar(i)ta Henrry, daughter of Maria Duga and Fran(cis)co Henrry, son of Martin Henrry and Maria Hebert; that Isabel Henrry, his fiance, is the widow of Juan Teriaut, a native of St. Malo and resident of Baton Rouge, the daughter of M(ari)a Pitre and Juan Henrry, son of Magdalena Terio and Juan Henrry, son of Martin Henrry and Maria Hebert, and therefore related in the third degree; that his fiancee is an orphan and poor, for while her husband left her a house, he also left a debt of 700 pesos of which 300 remains and she must work, having no slaves nor anyone to help her, although she has a son he is not yet seven years old; that Longuepec, while not rich, could save her from debt and misery. This information being sufficient, he asks (Penalver) to order that the pastor of Baton Rouge marry them.

Ambrosio Garidel appears as a witness and swears to (essentially the same information as given in the first letter). Garidel is 34 years old and signs as Ambroise Garidel.

Having seen the petition and examined the testimony Penalver grants the dispensation provided that they fast every Friday for a month, make a general confession and two particular ones before they marry, and that notice be given to the pastor of Baton Rouge so that upon the completion of these penances the banns may be published and if there are no other impediments he may marry them. Quintero certifies this and adds in notes that he notified Longuepec of the decree and that the letter was sent to the pastor of Baton Rouge.

Burke, pastor of the parish of Our Lady of the Dolors, certifies that there is an entry like the following in the register of Deaths of that parish: On August 27, 1794, there was buried in the cemetery of this district, Ambrosio Teriaut< son of Joseph Teriaut and Francisca Melanzon, after receiving the sacraments, a native of Acadia, aged 27, leaving a son and his wife, Isabela Henry.
