Clara, a native of New Orleans, appears and states that the record of her daughter Luisa's baptism is entered in the book of negroes. Clara is the daughter of Jose Lopez de la Pena, a captain in the Infantry of Luisa Mandeville as proved by the documents 2, 3, 4, 5. She asks that the entry be corrected so that it may not be an obstacle to her daughter.

Quintanilla, as assistant in the parish of St. Louis, certifies that in Book 5 of Baptisms of Negroes, on page 89, there is the following entry: On January 20, 1795, Quintanilla supplied the ceremonies for Luisa, a mestiza, born December 21, 1794, baptized because of illness by the midwife Madame Meilleur, daughter of Clara Pena, a free mestiza and Luis Declouet; the godparents being Joseph le Blanc and Maria Carlota Declouet, without contracting a spiritual relationship.

Sedella, pastor of the cathedral, certifies that in the 3rd baptismal record of whites, on page 79, No. 531, there is the following entry: On January 24. 1799, Sedella baptized a girl, born October 29, 1798, illegitimate daughter of Luis Decluet, lieutenant in the Infantry of Louisiana and of Clara Lopes de la Pena, both residents of New Orleans; the paternal grandparents being Alexandre Decluet, Lt. Colonel and native of Pecardy in France and Luisa Favrot of St. Luis parish; the maternal grandparents Jose Lopes de la Pena, Captain, native of Pontevedra, Galicia, in Spain and Luisa Mandeville, native of New Orleans. The name given was Maria Clara; the godparents Francisco Ladesbes, 2nd Lieutenant and Hanrrieta Villescusa who were notified of the spiritual relationship. Luis Declouet signed with Sedella.
