Mr. Eyre has ordered two frames made for the picture of the Sacred Heart and for the diploma of Congreganiste. She asks permission to retain the Hostie de Noel for her little Josephine. The four who have made their first Communion were prepared solely by herself. Would Hudson think her presumptuous if she tried to publish her notes? Father Robert Kelly put the idea into her mind.

J(enkins), Father T(homas) J.:
to Father (Daniel E.) H(udson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

He writes this in a hurry before he leaves. Hudson may do as he pleases with the story. Father (Matthew) R(ussell, S.J. ?) wrote him that his collection will only include personal poems and a few from friends. Therefore his commission is played out. He has a notion to present Russell a copy of Father (Edmund) Hill's poems so that he cannot fail to find the true ideal religious poet. (On back of a list of books on the Index of 1876.)

M(urphy S.J.), Father E(dward): (Ireland)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

If the terms (Printed on the reverse side) appeared monthly and in English pounds as well as dollars and cents, and if Gill received extra copies each month, the "Ave Maria" would make greater progress in Ireland. One gratis copy to the convents would not be a loss. Burns and Oates should be made agents for England.

Robert is presenting a copy of the "Life of R(everen)d F. Muard", which he has translated, to McMaster. He has ordered Mr. Pustet, editor of the work, to remit it. It is a testimony of his gratitude to McMaster. The work in the Indian Territory goes slowly for Robot is cursed by lack of co-laborers and lack of money. He would be grateful for a letter from McMaster.

Sheridan O.P., Father J( ) A.: Louisville, K(entuck)y
to (Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.: Notre Dame, Indiana)

He sends an article already published. Christ's aid should come through the hands of Mary, since through Mary we received the Redeemer. Through Mary the implacable enemy of the Church, Mahomet, was crushed. A monument should beer the inscription "The Holy Name of Mary." If Hudson publishes the piece, he should credit the "Catholic Advocate."

to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

(Sutton, Mary Frances):
to (Father Edward Murphy, S.J.): (Cork, Ireland)

(Her son?) made his first confession. She called on Canon Coghlan and he took charge of the child. The children delight in (Murphy's) legends. No wonder Father (Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.) should praise them. She will write something for the young people soon. She has not seen Eddie Harding for a long time. The children at the convent had a visit from him last week.
