Can Hudson give her Dr. Spaulding's and Miss Cary's addresses? Father (George M.) Searle and G. Stanton Floyd-Jones have sent their stories, and she thinks she will get Mr. Lock. Curtis will pray for Mrs. Sullivan. The prayers of Curtis' Irish nurse may have helped to make her a Catholic. Brother Angelo called her about wanting her subscription; She already had one through her godmother, Miss McMahon. Curtis has been totally deaf since she was 8.

They were truly sorry to hear of the death of Edwards' Mother. Father (Andrew) Morrissey said that was what detained Edwards in Toledo. Time and religion are the things that can heal the wound of the loss of one so dear. Mrs. Nevius died a month ago in Ireland. Tom Nevius brought the Marshall children over to this country and they are all at Orange.

S(toddard) C(harles) W(arren): Monterey, Calif(ornia)
to (Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Stoddard is doing the "San Francisco Revisited" for Hudson. San Francisco was the home of his youth and is gone forever. It will not be a real city for 20 years. The Louis Imogen Guiney bit is charming. Her private letters are well worth publishing. Stoddard is impatient to see the letters from China.

McCullough, Bert: Chicago, Ill(inois)
to (James F.) Edwards: Notre Dame, Ind(iana)

He was much surprised to learn of Edwards' misfortune. The fact that Edwards wrote so soon after the stroke shows that he will rapidly regain control of all the muscles affected. The Northwestern University Medical school has a wide reputation for proficiency in neurological work. He discusses Edwards' case and gives some advice.
