O'Kennedy, Father R(ichard):
Fedamore, (Ireland)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana)
He has had a delightful visitor—a huge volume of Suarez. O'Kennedy thinks the life of Our Blessed Lady ought to be treated theologically. He will do "The Pity of the Lord" for Lent and after that Hudson can have the Extracts. O'Kennedy was overjoyed when he read about a world-wide Catholic Press Union. When he wrote to Hudson about it he wrote to the President of the Irish College at Rome, but nothing came of it. The other day he had two girls home from America.

Courson, Countess Barbara de:
Paris, (France)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana)
Courson hopes her "Arles" will soon appear in the Ave Maria. The cause of its last Archbishop, Bishop (Jean Marie) du Lau, is being actively worked up by Bishop de Teil. Would Hudson care for a sketch of Louise de Marillac? She is buried in the chapel where Our Lady appeared to Soeur Laboure. Courson's second son is going to be married next month.

Metcalf, Father Theodore A.:
Highland Falls, N(ew) Y(ork)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana)
Metcalf will be until the 24th visiting with Monsignor O'Keefe. What he could write about Thomas Dwight would be too much of a private and personal nature. Although his oldest living friend, Metcalf is forgotten in Boston because of his long absence from his diocese. He recognized very few at Dwight's funeral. A whole generation has replaced the persons known to Metcalf when Chancellor at the Cathedral. Dwight's life was saintly. By his death the last tie is severed with Metcalf's Catholic lay companions of his boyhood.

to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):

She thanks him for the kind words about "The Light of the Vision". She has had many letters about the story. When will it appear in book form? She thinks, from a business point of view, that it would be wise to publish it as soon as possible. She encloses a letter from her bishop. (no enclosure).

to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
Notre Dame, Indiana
Tiernan sent off the revised pages of "The Light of the Vision". She encloses the dedication (no enclosure). If it were not for Hudson none of her stories which have appeared in the Ave Maria would have been written.
