(Bickerstaffe-Drew, Father Francis Browning D.) John Ayscough:
Salisbury Plain, (England)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana)
Ayscough thanks Hudson for his kind congratulations and is glad Hudson liked "A Desert Saint". The Benziger letter and stamps never reached him. They are publishing "Faustula" in the U.S.A. He is glad Hudson liked the preface to the new "Marotz." There has never been the faintest hint from his religious superiors that anything in his works required revision.

Byles thanks Hudson for sending the June Ave Maria containing the extract from his article in the Tablet. There is a misprint which alters the sense of the sentence in which it occurs. He never intended to convey the impression that it was his becoming a Catholic which opened his brother's eyes. He has been going through his brother's papers and effects.
