Fraser thanks Hudson for his kind review. The announcement of her sister-in-law's marriage must have come as a shock to Hudson. The marriage of Francis Marion Crawford and his wife was not an ideal one. She was a fine mother and her children are grown. She was lonely and Fraser stands by her fully in her marriage to Francesco Tomassetti. He is only 35, but very mature, and was loved by Marion. Tomassetti worships Bessie. Fraser has not as yet had an audience with the Pope and has been looking into the question of St. Peter's stone. She has been writing a small biography of Santa Francesca Romana. Would Hudson like any of it? She is putting out another volume of stories and experiences. Hudson probably has read about the earthquake of Jan. 13. The government did not rise quickly to the emergency created by the earthquake. Her son is still safe.
