Sister has heard the good news that $15 will be coming. Sister Clare Feilding wrote to her on Nov. 18 announcing the gifts. They are passing through a terrible year. What would their poor children do, if America did not come to their help. She sends notes of thanks to be forwarded to their benefactors.

Jefferson has joined the railway service. The editing of the "Far Eastern Catholic" is postponed indefinitely. On Dec. 12 the Government decided that the form of government should be a constitutional monarchy. President Yuan Shih Kai yielded to this demand and preparations for the coronation are in progress. It is reported that the Province of Yunnan in the South-west has declared its independence. He assisted at midnight Mass in the Church of Notre Dame des Victoires at Tientsin.
