Klein, Father Felix:
Neudon, (France)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana)
Klein sends the first chapter of his book in English. He wrote to Murphy and Co., and to Harpers offering the volume. If Hudson begins to publish it now in the Ave Maria he will have time to do so before it appears in bookstores. If Klein is to send the rest of the translation which is complete, Hudson is to telegraph him.

Leslie, Shane:
Port Washington, (New York)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana
"Exorcism" is the only poem he wrote this year and it is dedicated to Hudson. They sail for Ireland on July 24. Ireland troubles him. All the moderate and wise have done what they could and now the reckless and the relentless must hold the Irish stage. He encloses his defense of Cardinal (Henry Edward) Manning in the Pilot which Hudson can use if Lytton Strachey's book comes his way.

Christitch, Elisabeth (OBrien):
London, (England)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana)
Christitch is glad to have the Ave Maria which keeps her in touch with all that is charitable, sane, and truly Christian after the strange perversions of many Catholic periodicals. It is good to read Hudson's defense of the Woman's Cause whenever it is attacked. The nuns at Tyburn are delighted to have the Ave Maria again. A young Serbian girl whom Annie brought back with her from Belgrade has just been received into the convent and Janie Patricia Christitch made her final vows on May 23 and was appointed sub-Prioress at Royston. Her son leaves Belgrade for Washington where he has been appointed military attache. He has not as of yet openly joined the true Church. Her health is improved, but she is still mostly confined to bed.

Handley, Marie L(ouise):
North Adams, Mass(achusetts)
to Father (Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana)
Handley thanks Hudson for Part IV of the "Little Soldiers". Handley received a letter yesterday from Livio's mother. She is full of gratitude to Hudson and to Handley, and sends a remembrance of Livietto (a memorial card of Livio Capece Galeata). The loss of this holy child has been a great sacrifice for the Contessa.
