Dodge, Bayard:
to (Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Copy of letter from managing Director at Beirut. Mr. Shedadi, the manager of a small orphanage at Zahleh, had a little trouble with some of the Catholics. He refused to allow priests to give instruction to the Catholic children before Communion. He did this without consulting the Headquarters of the Near East Relief. Their policy has been to allow children to receive responsible instruction. The matter has been set right now.

Francis, Philip: Brooklyn, N(ew) Y(ork)
to Father (Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

This little book is part of a campaign to expose British propaganda. It has roused the anger of the British propaganda agencies and as a result his publications are being kept out of the regular market channels. He is sending this book and letter to ten thousand Catholic clergymen. Would Hudson recommend some person in his Church who will sell Francis's publications?

Haskell, W(illia)m H.:
to (Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Important conference on Monday. Hudson is to convey Haskell's disappointment at not seeing Archbishop Hayes before his departure. No discrimination against Catholics by Near East ever came to Haskell's notice.

Robinson, Gertrude: Oxford, (England)
to (Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

This is a selection from mediaeval stories. They ought to be interesting to Catholics. She has translated them very freely from the Latin into mediaeval English.
