1922 Jan. 3
Gabriel of the Incarnation, Sister Mary: Chichester, England
to Father (Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Sister fears that the publications Hudson sent have been lost. "The Little Soldier" of Christ could be reprinted in pamphlet form at Notre Dame as long as it would be accessible to English children. There are several nice photographs of little Livio (Capece Galeata) which she is sure his mother would send. She inserted them in the Italian booklet. The French version is not as nice.

1922 Jan. 10
Gabriel of the Incarnation, Sister Mary: Chichester, England
to Father D(aniel) E. Hudson, C.S.C.: Notre Dame, Indiana

Sister thanks Hudson for the pamphlets just received. "The House of Mourning" is especially nice. The very thing she was longing for for the "Little Soldier of Christ".

1922 Jan. 17
Bonzano, Archbishop John: Washington, D(istrict of) C(olumbia)
to Father Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.: Notre Dame, Indiana

Bonzano received Hudson's letter with the check for $200 for the starving Russians. He will send it to Archbishop (Andrew Sheptytsky) Sceptyski.

(19)22 Jan. 21
Atteridge, Helen: Isleworth, (England)
to Father (Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

Her American friend Mrs. Erskine Childers, sent Atteridge "The Trail of the Black and Tans" asking her to review it. The English papers all boycotted it except the Catholic Times. In December the English Government Constabulary raided booksellers in Cork and forced them to remove the book from sale. Though the story is fiction everything in it actually happened. Could Hudson get someone to write about it? She hardly likes offering a review after the long space Hudson gave her for Mr. Walsh's book.

(1922?) Jan. 26
(Holmes), Marjorie: Bentham, (England)
to Father (Daniel E. Hudson, C.S.C.): (Notre Dame, Indiana)

She is glad Hudson kept the little poem. She has a confession to make. She is not a Roman Catholic, but wishes she were. Her mother and father would never let her be one and she is only eighteen.
