Atteridge, A. Hilliard:
Isleworth, (England)
to Father (Daniel E.) Hudson, (C.S.C.):
(Notre Dame, Indiana)
Atteridge had a welcome check from Hudson's manager. He sends an article which deals with glimpses of the 17th century Catholicism in London to be found in Pepy's diary. Atteridge was in Ireland for a few days in September. On his return he met a friend of Hudson's at the Catholic Truth Society—Bishop Fallon of London, Ontario. Atteridge feels sure that the provisional government in Ireland has made many mistakes and that the Irish bishops have made a bad mistake. Backing one party, accepting all the accusations against the other, they have lost the power of acting as peacemakers.
