Also included are two articles by other writers and a biography of Boland entitled Go to the Workingman. Boland's writings consist primarily of short essays on the labor movement and the Catholic Church. Many of works are not dated. Correspondence, newspaper clippings, case records, essays, and speeches relating to Boland's membership on city, state and regional committees, including the Buffalo Committee on the Stabilization of Unemployment (1930-1931), the Cosmopolitan Club of Erie County, New York (1931), the Catholic Industrial Conference of America (1934), the Buffalo Labor Board, and the New York State Labor Relations Board (1939-1942). Many the clippings collected in Boland's scrapbooks relate to these committees (see SRAPBOOKS SERIES, boxes 6-17). The PERSONAL AND MISCELLANEOUS SERIES (boxes 4-5) includes programs and congratulatory letters written at the time of Boland's retirement as chairman of the New York State Labor Relatins Board. .9 ft.

Some of the scrapbooks were compiled while Boland was chairman of the New York State Labor Relations Board. Also included are scrapbooks of Boland's trip to Europe and scattered issues of the newspaper Social Justice(1937-1940). The dates of many of the scrapbooks overlap. Photographs that were not part of the scrapbooks have been transferred to the Monsignor John Boland Photograph Collection (GBOL). 33 scrapbooks.
