This diverse series contains files from the Semester at Grailville (SAG) program, a self-directed learning program for women, with enrollment of 12-25 students each semester. Students were drawn from different universities throughout the country, and were granted academic credit by their home institutions for participation. Much of the actual program material covers the students' community involvement work and their work in additional interest areas such as poetry, guitar, French, Spanish, pottery, Black history, women's history and others. Other series such as address lists, colleges, conferences, contracts, correspondence, evaluations, flyers, forms, reference year books, reports and resource material are also included.
Address Lists: Concerned with recruiting potential students. The material includes names and addresses of students or others who knew students who might be interested in SAG. This material was used especially in 1975-1976 in an attempt to recruit students. Material arranged chronologically.
Colleges: Files of individual colleges or universities which had students at SAG, were contacted by SAG in an attempt to recruit potential students or were interested in the SAG idea and wanted to learn more about it. Arranged alphabetically by name of school and chronologically within.
Conferences: Contains material from two conferences "Education for Values in the Education of Women" which helped bring bout SAG idea and "Ursuline Academy Community Learning Work" which was held at Grailville and resourced by SAG staff Arranged alphabetically by title of conference.
Contracts: Copies of blank contracts used with universities sending students to SAG. Signed contracts are in with the indivudal college folder. Arranged chronologically.
Correspondence: Correspondence is grouped into general, which contains miscellaneous letters and then into larger groupings either about a specific correspondent or purpose of correspondence. Some groupings include Greater Cincinnati Consortium of Colleges and Universities, letters of inquiry about the SAG program from students and staff. Arranged alphabetically by type and then chronologically within each division.
Evaluations: Are written reports, one written by SAG staff and the other by a person who studied SAG for a graduate course. The reports give reasons why SAG succeeded and why it failed. Arranged chronologically.
Flyers / Brochures: Material sent out to help recruit students or give them additional information about SAG and Grailville once they have been accepted into the program. Arranged chronologically.
Forms: Forms used to keep track of people interested in attending SAG, working at SAG, working with SAG or colleges which were visited. Also included are miscellaneous forms such as applications, travel forms and proposed project forms. Arranged alphabetically by type.
Reference Year Books: A copy of every piece of material, mass produced by office for handout at SAG. Covers SAG #1-4. Arranged chronologically by SAG date and number.
Reports: The final printed report of every SAG program beginning with the initial planning through its final evaluation. Of special interest are the student prepared reports of SAG. Arranged chronologically.
Resource Material: Miscellaneous material in two folders are on self-directed learning and the other containing a "Woman" bibliography prepared by 1974 SAG students. Arranged chronologically.
