The Arab camp has been so deeply divided by Sadat’s visit to Israel that an overall solution of the Middle East crisis will not come about. However, there is the possibility that a separate peace treaty between Israel and Egypt will be concluded.

Worried about NATO

Voices of concern will not go away that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is facing difficulties. At this year’s winter conference of NATO in Brussels, worries have been expressed that the U.S. is making too many concessions in the SALT II negotiations, while the Warsaw Pact countries are continuing their armament undiminished.
