Mother Teresa at the United Nations

Last week the United Nations celebrated its 40th anniversary. On this occasion, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 1979, was invited to address the General Assembly. Last Friday, the General Assembly deeply moved listened to her address. Mother Teresa asked the members of the Assembly to join her in prayer and called to their attention that we encounter God in every human face. Each human life, above all the unborn life has to be protected. Non-believers in the audience must have been at least convinced of the profound humanity of this extraordinary woman.
